Popis: Painted poster by St. Almaliotis. There are two figures in the middle of the poster, Giorgos Fountas and a young woman rendered in two basic colors, blue and black. They are both shown in front view. G. Fountas holds the girl in his arms. She avoids his gaze and looks the other way, as if resisting his embrace. Her unbuttoned shirt reveals her fair-skinned body. At the upper part of the poster, the setting consists of rooftops and balconies of a rundown town district, in bold design and various colors: red, yellow, blue, purple, green. The film title appears at the bottom of the poster in capital blue letters: MAGIC CITY. At the top on the right, the artist’s initial: an S drawn with a small brush.
A poster by St. Almaliotis incorporating expressionistic elements and sharp color contrasts, as the two leading actors are rendered in two basic colors, blue and black. The highlighted areas of the face and body are painted in white, while blue and black are used for shading. A wider color palette is used in depicting the rundown town district. The technique employed in this poster is reminiscent of G. Vakirtzis’ manner, as the latter had studied under St. Almaliotis.
